The rules I hold myself to
- I only put an affiliate link on a tool I have actually used. If I haven’t used it, I say so.
- A commission never buys a recommendation. If a tool is overpriced, or the free version is good enough, I say that too, and I’ve told people not to buy things I earn money from.
- Every post containing affiliate links says so at the top, before you read a single recommendation.
- Nobody pays me to write a post, and no company gets to review a post before it goes live.
Why the blog works this way
Everyday AI has no ads and no paywall, and it never will. I made that choice on purpose. Ads would mean stuffing the pages with tracking scripts that slow the site down and follow you around the internet, and I’d rather not do that to you.
So the blog is paid for by three things: affiliate commissions from tools I genuinely use, the occasional coffee from a reader who found something useful, and eventually a book. That’s it.
If the affiliate thing still bugs you, that’s completely fair. Go to the tool’s website directly instead. I’d rather you trust the writing than click the link.
